Explore the journey
Over thirty years ago, Noreen Siviter started her journey to provide excellent childcare facilities. We have come a long way since our humble beginnings, which is testament to our mission to provide excellent childcare.

Family Home
The Corner House was once Noreen’s family home, and after simultaneously bringing up three children and working for other nurseries in Birmingham, Noreen started child-minding from home. As her reputation grew, she founded The Corner House. Noreen’s ethos still remains to this day, that learning through play and letting children explore and think for themselves is the cornerstone of a good education and preparation for life.

Established Nursery
The Corner House quickly established itself as an excellent nursery. The nursery was becoming financially stable, allowing investment into the buildings, equipment and human resources to give the children the best environment.

Unique Spirit and Heritage
After celebrating its 10-year anniversary, The Corner House was well established and our waiting lists were growing. We have often been tempted to increase our numbers but that would take away the unique spirit and the heritage of the nursery. We continued to increase spending on equipment, interiors and in the areas of training and team development.

25 Years
In its 25th year, the nursery underwent a substantial refurbishment, adding a new bathroom and rearranging the space to offer the best environment for learning and development.
Noreen’s children now manage the nurseries day-to-day and all of Noreen’s four grandchildren have attended The Corner House. Noreen still keeps a keen eye on the nurseries to ensure her original ethos is maintained throughout everything we do.
